Wednesday Wanderers Lunch Ride Report – 14th October 2026

Seventeen bikes left the clubrooms at 10 am today, and we picked up 3 more riders on the way to Blackwood, where we had a great lunch/chat at the Blackwood Hotel. The group was led by Fred Wing and once again, it was a superb look around that part of the country with the return route being via Ballan to Anakie where we then went our own way home. Cheers to all for another great day 👍

Next Wednesday Wanderers Lunch Ride (1st year anniversary) will be on the 18th of November. Further details are to be posted.

Wednesday 7th Oct Ride Report.

14 riders turned up this morning at the Batesford Roadhouse and were treated to a fantastic route amongst the Brisbane Ranges and surrounding area. Many said at our end destination the ‘Anakie Store’ that they hadn’t ridden the tracks we rode, and the general feeling from the group was “What a great day.”

Wednesday 14th October 9.15 at Clubrooms for 10.00am Start.

9 riders left the clubrooms today and were rewarded with clear roads, good weather and a great route, we rode through  Ceres, Inverleigh, Shelford stopping for a quick break at Cressy. We then rode to Red Rock via Duverney, Candace North, Dreeite, Alvie and stopped for a quick look taking in one of the best views in our region. We then rode to Beeac via Coragulac, Warrion where we stopped and had our refreshments and  a good chat, the group then returned to our end point at the BP servo at Winchelsea via Ombersley. I think everyone enjoyed themselves I know I did. 

Next 4th Sunday of the Month Ride is the 25th Oct 2026

20 Riders left the Clubrooms at 10 am and were led by Fred on a fantastic route that showcased the Golden Plains district in full colour, we regrouped at Ceres and made our way thru Lethbridge, She Oaks to our stop point at Merideth, after a good chat/stretch/twinkle we then made our way over to Dereel, Shelford arriving in Inverleigh to our lunch destination at the Inverleigh Hotel.

Thumbs up by all for the ride/food/weather/traffic/company.

WEDNESDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER.

Wednesday Wanderers ride. Leave clubrooms 10.00am for approximately 2 hour ride to Inverleigh Hotel.

SUNDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER.

Classic Club invitation for SMCC members to join their Sunday Red Plate Ride. this is similar format to our Monday red plate ride. Leave at 9.30am from Subway/Mcdonald’s carpark at Waurn Ponds. Destination for coffee will be decided on the day.

SUNDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER

4th Sunday ride. Leaving Clubrooms at 9.30am to Red Rock via Cressy stopping at Beeac for refreshments.

WEDNESDAY 7TH OCTOBER

One of our members is organising a dirt road ride (not suitable for road bikes) through the Brisbane Ranges. Leaving 9.30am from the truck stop opposite Batesford Roadhouse where you can get fuel and grab a coffee before you leave. The ride will be around 110klms taking 2 hours ending up at Anakie General Store for a coffee.
