Red Plate Monday Ride Report 28-04-25
Today’s red plate ride saw 15 riders front up at our Barrabool Road meeting point.
Ross volunteered to lead the ride on his VFR with Guy running backup in his old Willys car.
We headed out the Barwon Heads Road with a quick round up at the Servo and then out through Armstrong Creek where we encountered some rain.
The route continued along Thirteenth Beach into Barwon Heads then across the bridge to Ocean Grove and over Point Lonsdale a very scenic route despite the weather.
From there it was a short ride to the Queenscliff Bakery for a lovely pie and hot coffee.
It was then we learnt that our backup vehicle had lost an alternator bolt and stopped upon entering Point Lonsdale.
A Pigs Ear award due? Fortunately Bruce a local and Club member was passing by and went home to manufacture a replacement bolt.
A few of us returned to find repairs underway although the belt pulleys did not align so unbolt and finally we were successfully heading home.
Thanks Wayne Berry for the report and photos today ![]()
