Our resident Chef Bott is firing up the BBQ and will no doubt be putting on one of his delicious spreads. So come along for a great feed, get your permits & memberships renewed while catching up with mates.

No formal meeting will be held on the 23rd due to the large number of members still enjoying holidays away, but if you need your Club Permit or Memberships renewed, come on down and see our Membership Secretary – Ross Bell on Tuesday night.

There seemed to be a little confusion about the Red Plate Monday rides. They will continue every Monday for those who wish to turn up, it is only the 4th Sunday ride in January that is not scheduled to happen. Our regular Sunday club rides will commence in February with the Cape Patten run.

It was discussed at the last SMCC meeting about where to start the Monday rides from, and the Ride Committee has decided to leave the starting point in Barrabool Rd near the convenience block where it has been for several years.

We hope you all had a safe Christmas and New Year and hope to see some of you on our rides in 2024.

What a perfect way to finish off a great year of Red plate Monday Rides, 20 Riders on an endless variety of bikes.

Weather held off while we rode out through towards the Golden Plains, and then finished up back in Geelong West at Guy’s place for the long promised Egg & Bacon Toasties, and the wait was worth it.

The Pigs Ear award was ceremonially handed onto lucky recipient Magoo, for him demonstrating his German Spaceships passing abilities on the lead rider !

I’m sure Magoo will be on the lookout for the next recipient.

Next Scheduled Red Plate Monday ride is 08/01/23

The ride will be run in conjunction with the SMCC end of year breakup both starting and finishing at our club rooms in Bellarine St, meeting around 9.00am with a departure time of 9.30.

We ask members to come along on the oldest or smallest capacity bikes they have access to for a fun ride around the Bellarine Peninsula, stopping at Barwon Heads for a coffee before heading back to the clubrooms for a Special Bott BBQ lunch and refreshments.

The ride his open to all club members and friends on bikes or cars, old or new, so even if you don’t have an old or small bike you are very welcome to come along on what you have, but it will be a fairly slow ride with the little bikes leading the way.
