Well done – Mike & Mal !

The Sporting MotorCycle Club Geelong has received some fantastic news overnight from the Annual Ariel Register Rally, with two highly esteemed club members, Mike Fitzpatrick and Mal Loone both winning awards for their Ariels.

This year’s rally is currently being held in the picturesque location of Summerland, Evans Head, South Australia, and proved to be a memorable event for our two members

Mike Fitzpatrick’s meticulous dedication to preserving the heritage of early motorcycles was duly recognized as he proudly received the prestigious award for “Best pre war Ariel.” His expertly maintained machine stood out amongst a competitive field, showcasing the timeless elegance and engineering of a bygone era.

Mal Loone’s dedication to Ariel motorcycles was also recognized & celebrated with Mal receiving the “Best non conforming Ariel” award. Mal’s beautiful machine which has been impeccably restored, maintained & presented deservingly captured the judges attention.

These achievements by Mike and Mal are a testament to their passion for motorcycles and their commitment to the SMCC.

Their success at a national event like the Ariel Register Rally brings great pride to our club and serves as an inspiration to all our members.

We extend our warmest congratulations to both Mike and Mal on their well-deserved recognition.

Great Meeting Last Night, Thanks Paul Bourke – “Indian Crusader”.

A fantastic turn out last night for the 1st meeting of the month, and we all got to enjoy the inspirational story from Geelong local Paul Bourke and his Forrest Gump moment of heading out for a ride to clear his head and ending up riding around Australia, raising money to purchase Football boots for kids in remote communities.

Get ready to be inspired!

The SMCC is thrilled to host Paul Bourke, also known as the “Indian Crusader,” for an unforgettable presentation. Paul embarked on an extraordinary journey across Australia on his Indian motorcycle, raising funds to provide footy boots and sporting gear for kids in remote communities. His mission began with a simple idea: kicking a footy at ovals across the country. Along the way, he was moved by the needs of outback children and turned his ride into a powerful charitable crusade.

Paul has shared his incredible experiences on his YouTube channel, The Indian Crusader, where he documents the highs and challenges of his journey. From heartwarming encounters with local communities to the overwhelming support from people across the nation, his story is one of compassion, determination, and making a difference.

Join us this Tuesday 8th of April at 7:30pm at our South Geelong Clubrooms to hear Paul’s inspiring story firsthand. Don’t miss this chance to meet a true Aussie legend and learn how one man’s ride became a movement for good. Let’s show our support for this amazing cause!
